The NMA Ponca City Grand National
Championship is set up via regions. Each
region will hold qualifiers during May and
June. Each region will have up to 6 events.
The Grand National Championships will be
held in Ponca City, Oklahoma July 26-July
31, 2010.
The event schedule is listed by region
along with each regional manager's name and
phone number. The rules and premise for the
Nationals are as follows:
1. The first regional event entered by a
rider will dictate which region he will
qualify in; i.e. a rider from Texas may
enter either a Texas region or Ozark region
event, but must participate in a least two
qualifiers in the same region in which he
chooses to begin his competition activity
and finish in the top 12 based on the entire
regional series of races.
2. If a rider doesn’t continue in the
region where he started his qualifying, he
may go to another region to qualify as long
as he or she participates in two or more
events in the same region. Riders may
participate in more than one region as long
as he or she competes in a minimum of two
events in one of the regions and finishes in
the tope twelve in that region where he or
she
3. AGE GROUPS AND RIDER CLASSIFICATIONS.
All age groups for Pee Wees, Jr. Cycles,
Mini Cycles and Super Mini Class will be
frozen as of Jan. 1 of this year and all
Motorcycle classifications will be frozen as
of Jan. 1, of this year. Whatever age or
motorcycle classification you hold or have
ridden in or have been moved to by another
club on that date is the class or age group
you must qualify in and remain in throughout
the qualifiers and final Ponca City event.
IF A RIDER ADVANCES TO A HIGHER CLASS
WITH ANY OTHER ORGANIZATION AFTER HE RACES
HIS FIRST NMA QUALIFIER, HE MUST THEN MOVE
TO THAT HIGHER CLASS WITH NMA AND
PARTICIPATE AT THE PONCA CITY FINALS IN THAT
HIGHER CLASS.
NOTE: Riders who qualify for the AMA "A"
class must ride Pro with NMA and riders who
qualify in the AMA "B" class must ride
Intermediate with NMA. See NMA rules
regarding rider classifications.
License in the NMA for all participants
is mandatory and application for license can
be obtained either from the Regional Manager
at the qualifier, you can apply online at
nmamx.com or complete the enclosed
application and mail it directly to the NMA
main office. NMA will assign all riders
numbers and classifications, etc. and cards
will be mailed to the rider by NMA.
Each Regional Manager will maintain the
riders point totals as the events take place
in their region. The top 12 point
accumulators in each class from each region
will qualify for the Grand National Finals
in Ponca City. Total points for classes in
each region are figured out after all
regional events are completed. After the
completion of the qualifiers, each regional
manager will send a list of those riders who
qualified for Ponca City. The rider will
then receive an information packet
containing the Ponca City entry form along
with important information pertaining to the
Event. This packet will be sent from the NMA
main office.
